Playing with GWT
Just for kicks, I decided to try using the Google Web Toolkit the other day, to try and realize an idea for a web application that had been bouncing around in my head. Frustrations
Damn it, if TextMate had just a few things, I would have switched already. As it is, it’s pretty darn hard to tear myself away from Emacs when it’s got none of:
Ability to override certain keybindings: I really want C-j to be newline and have C-h be backspace and ⌘-h be help.
No point-and-mark type region? So I can’t set point and isearch-forward to extend the selection?...
Textmate or Emacs?
As part of my switch from (GNU/) Linux to OS X, I’ve considered making my switch complete, and moving from Emacs to Textmate. I’ve heard that Textmate is basically Emacs for OS X, except nicer looking.

So, after about five years using exclusively Linux, I’ve switched over to a Mac. I’ve had my Macbook Pro for a week now and my conclusion thus far is “wow”.
